Zillow’s home values are inaccurate, but that’s not the only reason why they suck. Zillow also provides inaccurate and outdated information to homebuyers.

Today I’m back with part two of my series on why Zillow sucks. Last week, we talked about why Zillow’s home values are inaccurate. Sadly, a lot of Zillow’s information is inaccurate or outdated.
I’ve had buyers come up to me and say they are interested in a property that we already sold. Sometimes, those properties sold weeks ago, but Zillow still has them listed on their website as for sale.
Why does that happen? Zillow charges agents for marketing. Every time someone comes to their website and registers to see a property, Zillow charges certain agents to be able to market that home and get those buyer leads.
“Zillow leaves old listings up so they can charge agents to market the home & get buyer leads.”
If you are a buyer in today’s market, do you want updated information or do you want inaccurate information? Obviously, you don’t want to waste your time on homes that you can’t buy. If you want updated information, go to our website. We update our site every hour so that you have the most accurate information possible.
Now for today’s trivia question. I love “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” At one point, one of the characters from the original cast was recast with a new actor. What was the name of that character?
I look forward to seeing your answers. In the meantime, if you have any real estate questions, just give me a call or send me an email. I would be happy to help you!
